Senior Photos with Sarah

webth9

Sarah was very fun to work with and was up for any ideas that I threw at her. We started with some classy formal shots, then moved into some fun casual photos. Sarah is a reader, so she wanted some photos with her books. The various locations at Hendrix College provided us with some really great shots.

Chad and Tiffany Engagement Session and Wedding

webcbw5

I recently photographed my cousin’s engagement session and wedding. The engagement session was shot at the Old Mill in North Little Rock. It was a warm winter day, so there were a lot of people visiting the park, but not so much that I couldn’t get the shots I wanted. The wedding was held at the Lake Degray Resort. The setting was beautiful, and the lake made a nice backdrop for shots of the wedding party.

Ivy and Marcus Engagements

webIW26

Ivy and Marcus were such a fun couple to photograph. I was a bit surprised when I received Ivy’s request for an engagement shoot, as she is from out of state, however her fiancĂ©, Marcus, went to school here in Conway, and Ivy loved the scenery at Hendrix so much, they wanted to travel here for their engagement session. Hendrix college is one of my favorite places to shoot, and as many times as I have photographed sessions on their campus, I have not even come close to exhausting my backdrop ideas at that location.

How to Use High Shutter Speeds with your Alien Bee Strobes.

Recently, I came across a comment on Facebook that said it was possible to get shutter speeds faster than the native sync speed by using a High Speed Sync compatible flash to optically trigger your studio strobe. The topic came up again at the APPA Spring Seminar where a Paul C. Buff Einstein was used in High Speed Sync mode to capture images of dancers in clouds of flower petals and flour. The question was brought up if this was possible to shoot without the Einstein and HSS radio trigger. I mentioned using hypersync, and tried to explain the idea briefly. With it being a somewhat complicated topic, I felt it would be easier to explain if I went through it in writting.

Here’s the theory behind hypersync...

Holder Wedding

I recently photographed the wedding of PJ and Robert, as well as their bridals and an engagement session. The wedding was simple, set in the beautiful Mount Vernon, Arkansas countryside, with a field of sunflowers as the background. The colors were a mix of purples, set off by bright orangish-yellow sunflowers. Both the bride and groom were very easy going, and loved having fun, which made for some great photo opportunities.

Tyler

Tyler is a 2015 high school grad. We had a blast shooting his photos. While trying to get some serious looks, he told us that he loved to smile and I think it shows (though he’s got an awesome serious face too). Tyler is an all-around athlete, playing both basketball and baseball for his school. Congrats to Tyler on his graduation and good luck with your bright future.

Micah

Micha was my first newborn of 2015. He was so sweet and slept through most of the session. We hope he’ll grow up to be great in whatever he choses to do, and it looks like he might like football.

Dexter

I recently had the pleasure of photographing newborn Dexter. His parents, especially his Dad, are major comic book and superhero fans, and love superman, so we gave Dexter a cape and glasses for his first cosplay.
